How do I describe myself? Proud father. Committed partner. Entrepreneur. Adventurer. First-responder wannabe. Jeet Kune Do-er. Lover and admirer of people. Dreamer.

I co-founded Torr Pen Company with Diana to provide great gifts for men.  We strive to make great gifts that make the act of giving and receiving gifts a whole lot more fun and rewarding.  To me, a great gift is something that serves an actual purpose, enriches your life in some way, and is fun.

I have to admit, I was not much of a gift person until only about 5 years ago.  Since I did not receive many gifts as a child, giving gifts was not a language that I spoke.  However, after having my daughter, I have come to love the act of giving gifts.  There is such joy in watching someone receive the right gift.  If given properly, the act of giving a gift, no matter how small, can increase some very powerful and important feelings in both the giver and receiver.  Love, adoration, self-confidence, respect, appreciation, and happiness. 

I grew up in inner city Boston, in a large family on government assistance programs, which has solidified my commitment to giving back to my community whenever possible.  For that reason, I am proud that Torr Pen Company supports children who are in need of cheering up, and our military veterans. 

I love challenges. I earned a degree in chemical engineering, and then worked as a process engineer in Ireland and in Boston.  I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to earn an MBA from Stanford University, where my entrepreneurial spirit blossomed. 

When I am not working, I can be found drinking pretend tea with my daughter.

Diana Hudak

I think men get the short end of the stick when it comes to getting gifts. I’ve got gifts for women covered. Sparkly, shiny, or colorful. (Just kidding, we’re more complex than that, and you know it, guys).

When I am stuck for a great men’s gift, I usually end up just giving a batch of homemade cookies (the delicious kind), which inevitably leads to either the “please don’t make me eat cookies” argument against them, or to a plateful of crumbs.

After college, I spent several years working as a business development professional. I found enjoyment and satisfaction in working with organizations committed to discovering cures for cancer, though decided to stretch my entrepreneurial wings, and follow my creative passions – which ultimately led me to co-found Torr Pen Company. At Torr, we are committed to evening out the playing field for guys by creating fun and sophisticated gifts especially for men.

I grew up in Connecticut, and have a twin brother, and older and younger sister. I am proud to be the first person from my small town public high school to attend Harvard College, where I earned a degree in chemistry. In addition to loving the library, I am a gymnast, a swimmer, and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  I am also a Daisy Girl Scout troop leader, through which I am honored to support the women leaders of tomorrow.
